Ivan Pavlovich Dikunov (14 April 1941 – 25 March 2022) was a Soviet and Russian sculptor.[1]

Dikunov was born in Pavlovsky District, Voronezh Oblast.[2][3] He graduated from his high school in 1958, in which Dikunov later had worked somewhere in Leningrad.[2] He attended the Tavricheskaya Art School, where Dikunov had studied at the sculpture branch.[2] Dikunov then attended the St. Petersburg Academy of Arts (named after realist painter Ilya Repin) from 1964 to 1970.[2] He also attended Leningrad Art College.[3] Dikunov became a member of the Artists' Union of the USSR in 1974,[2][3] in which Dikunov had functioned in its Art Fund of the RSFSR.[2]
Dikunov had taught at the Voronezh Art School from 1988 to 1995.[2] He then taught at the Voronezh State University for which he was also selected as the chairperson of the Artists' Union of the USSR from 1985 to 1991.[2] Dikunov was honored with the Laureate of the State Prize in 1990.[2][3] He was honored with medals, such as Honored Artist of the RSFSR[1] and the People's Artist of the Russian Federation.[2] In 2009, Dikunov was honored as the Honorary Citizen of the Voronezh Region by Governor of Voronezh Oblast on 9 June 2009.[2] He was also a member of the Petrovsky Academy of Science and Arts for which Dikunov was also a professor, according to the cited source.[3]
Dikunov died from COVID-19 complications in March 2022, at the age of 80.[2]
