Fue uno de los pocos pintores conocidos de Corea para apartarse de los estilos tradicionales Chinos. Jeong Seon inspiró a otros artistas Coreanos a hacer lo mismo, dejando un impacto duradero en el arte coreano de la era Joseon.

Jeong Seon (Korean: 정선) (1676–1759) was a Korean landscape painter, also known by the pen name Kyomjae. His cha was Wonbaek and another ho was Nangok. His works include ink and oriental water paintings, such as Inwangjesaekdo (1751), Geumgang jeondo (1734), and Ingokjeongsa (1742), as well as numerous "true-view" landscape paintings on the subject of Korea and the history of its culture. He is counted among the most famous Korean painters.[1] The landscape paintings that he produced reflect most of the geographical features of Korea.[2] His style is realistic rather than abstract.[3]- [es] Jeong Seon

Jeong Seon (정선, 鄭敾), ou Chong Son (1676-1759) est un peintre paysagiste coréen. Il est aussi connu sous le nom de Gyeomjae (겸재, 謙齋) avec lequel il signait ses peintures. Son nom de courtoisie était Wonbaek (원백, 元伯). C'est l'un des rares peintres coréens qui se distingue des styles traditionnels chinois. Il développa son propre style basé sur des paysages coréens, ce qui fait de lui un des chefs de file du jingyeong, la « vue authentique ». Toutefois, ses peintures sont aussi classées comme faisant partie de l'école du Sud. Il est connu pour avoir quitté fréquemment son studio pour peindre les paysages comme il les voyait vraiment.
