Barbara Bloom (né en 1951, à Los Angeles) est une artiste conceptuelle.

Études

Bloom a pris des cours au Bennington College à Bennington, Vermont, et en 1972[1] a obtenu son baccalauréat en beaux-arts de l'Institut des Arts de Californie à Valencia, en Californie, où son mentor était John Baldessari[2].

Travail

Bloom est liée à un groupe d'artistes appelés The Picture Generation[3]. Bloom a enseigné à la Cooper Union School of Art de New York, l'Art Institute de Boston à Lesley University, l'école d'art de l'université Columbia, à l'école d'arts de l'université Yale, à la School of Visual Arts de New York ou encore à l'Académie royale des beaux-arts d'Amsterdam[4].

Pendant près de vingt ans, elle a vécu en Europe, d'abord à Amsterdam, puis à Berlin[5].

Barbara Bloom (born 1951, in Los Angeles) lives and works in New York City.[1] She is a conceptual artist best known for her multi-media installation works. Bloom is loosely affiliated with a group of artists referred to as The Pictures Generation.[2] For nearly twenty years she lived in Europe, first in Amsterdam then Berlin.[3] Since 1992, she has lived in New York City with her husband, the writer-composer Chris Mann, and their daughter.
