Blas de Prado, ou Del Prado, né dans les environs de Tolède vers 1540, est un peintre espagnol, et était un élève de Alonso Berruguete. Il y a quelques-unes de ses œuvres dans la chapelle de Saint-Blas à Tolède, mais elles sont très détériorées par le temps et l'humidité. À Madrid, il y a aussi quelques tableaux de cet artiste, en particulier un retable dans l'église de San Pedro, représentant la Descente de la Croix. Au début de sa vie, Prado a été invité à visiter la cour de l'Empereur du Maroc, à peindre un portrait de sa fille, et est retourné en Espagne amplement récompensé pour son travail. À Fès, il peint les portraits des princesses du Harem. Il meurt à Madrid vers 1600.

Blas de Prado, or Del Prado, was a Spanish painter, who was born in the vicinity of Toledo, about 1540, and was a scholar of Alonso Berruguete. There are some of his works in the chapel of St. Blas at Toledo, but they are much injured by time and the dampness of the situation. At Madrid there are also some pictures by this artist, particularly an altar-piece in the church of San Pedro, representing the 'Descent from the Cross,' which is evidently the work of a great master. In the early part of his life Prado was invited to visit the court of the Emperor of Morocco, to paint a portrait of his daughter, and returned to Spain amply rewarded for his labour. Whilst at Fez he painted the portraits of the Princesses of the Harem. He died at Madrid about 1600.

Blas de Prado (c. 1545-1599) fue un destacado pintor manierista español, nacido probablemente en Camarena (Toledo), que trabajó para la Catedral de Toledo y otras iglesias de su arzobispado así como para el rey Felipe II y el jerife de Fez. Los elogios que le dedicaron sus contemporáneos, según recogen las fuentes literarias, atestiguan el prestigio del que gozó en su tiempo aunque son muy pocas las obras de su mano que se han conservado. La fuerte influencia italiana que se advierte en ellas, descartado un posible viaje a Italia, se explicaría por sus relaciones con El Escorial y la utilización de estampas de aquella procedencia.
