Eleanor (connue sous le nom d'Ellen) Creathorne Clayton (nom de mariage Needham), née le 15 février 1834 à Dublin et morte le 19 juillet 1900[1], est une auteure et artiste.

Biographie

Ellen Creathorne Clayton, née le 15 février 1834 à Dublin, est l'aînée des enfants et la fille unique de Benjamin Clayton (1809-1883), un graveur et illustrateur, et de son épouse, Mary Graham (morte en 1877)[2].

Sa famille déménage à Londres en 1841[3]

Elle est surtout connue pour son dictionnaire de femmes peintres anglaises English female artists.
