Joachim Ringelnatz (pseudonimo di Hans Gustav Bötticher) (Wurzen, 7 agosto 1883 – Berlino, 17 novembre 1934) è stato uno scrittore, cabarettista e pittore tedesco, conosciuto soprattutto per le sue poesie umoristiche.

Dopo aver prestato servizio militare in marina durante la prima guerra mondiale, cominciò a declamare i suoi componimenti satirici nei locali di Berlino. Si trattava di poesie basate su giochi di parole e su doppi sensi, a contenuto polemico e talvolta apertamente sovversivo. Il personaggio ricorrente in questi componimenti era il marinaio Kuddel Daddeldu, una sorta di alter ego antiautoritario e anarchico.

Per questo, il regime nazista bollò la sua arte come "degenerata".

Ringelnatz ha lasciato numerose raccolte di poesie, alcuni lavori di prosa, opere narrative autobiografiche e libri per bambini. Molte delle sue opere figurative sono andate distrutte durante la seconda guerra mondiale.

Joachim Ringelnatz (* 7. August 1883 in Wurzen als Hans Gustav Bötticher; † 17. November 1934 in Berlin) war ein deutscher Schriftsteller, Kabarettist und Maler, der vor allem für humoristische Gedichte um die Kunstfigur Kuttel Daddeldu bekannt ist. Er war bekannt zur Zeit der Weimarer Republik und zählte Schauspieler wie Asta Nielsen und Paul Wegener zu seinen engen Freunden und Weggefährten. Sein teils skurril, expressionistisch, witzig und geistreich geprägtes Werk ist noch heute bekannt.

Joachim Ringelnatz is the pen name of the German author and painter Hans Bötticher (7 August 1883, Wurzen, Saxony – 17 November 1934, Berlin). His pen name Ringelnatz is usually explained as a dialect expression for an animal, possibly a variant of Ringelnatter, German for Grass Snake or more probably the seahorse for winding ("ringeln") its tail around objects. Seahorse is called Ringelnass (nass = wet) by mariners to whom he felt belonging. He was a sailor in his youth and spent the First World War in the Navy on a minesweeper. In the 1920s and 1930s, he worked as a Kabarettist, i.e., a kind of satirical stand-up comedian. He is best known for his wry poems, often using word play and sometimes bordering on nonsense poetry. Some of these are similar to Christian Morgenstern's, but often more satirical in tone and occasionally subversive. His most popular creation is the anarchic sailor Kuddel Daddeldu with his drunken antics and disdain for authority.
