Histoire
Le musée est ouvert depuis . Composante des musées de Dahlem, il occupe le même bâtiment que le musée ethnologique de Berlin.
Avec environ 20 000 objets exposés, c'est l'un des plus grands musées au monde sur l'art asiatique ancien[1]. Il fait partie des Musées nationaux de Berlin.

Das Museum für Asiatische Kunst der Staatlichen Museen zu Berlin hat seinen Sitz im Humboldt Forum im Berliner Schloss. Gegründet 2006 durch Vereinigung des Museums für Ostasiatische Kunst und des Museums für Indische Kunst, besteht es aus der Kunstsammlung Süd-, Südost- und Zentralasien mit ca. 20.000 Objekten sowie der Ostasiatischen Kunstsammlung mit ca. 300 Objekten. Erstere gehört zu den bedeutendsten Sammlungen ihrer Art,[1] letztere verlor 1945 durch Verbringung als Beutekunst in die Sowjetunion den Großteil ihres Bestandes.[2][en] Museum of Asian Art
The Museum of Asian Art (German: Museum für Asiatische Kunst) is located in the Dahlem neighborhood of the borough of Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Berlin, Germany. It is one of the Berlin State Museums institutions and is funded by the Prussian Cultural Heritage Foundation. It houses some 20,000 Asian artifacts, making it one of the largest museums of ancient Asian art in the world.[1] The museum is located in the same building as the Ethnological Museum of Berlin. The museum houses important collections of Art houses of South, Southeast and Central Asian countries and art from the Indo-Asian cultural area, from the 4th millennium BC to the present. Its geographic reach covers regions in India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Nepal, the Autonomous Region of Tibet and Xinjiang of the People's Republic of China, the Southeast Asian countries of Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and also the Indonesian Islands or archipelago.[2]- [fr] Musée d'Art asiatique de Berlin
