Portrait of Joachim Murat is an 1808 oil on canvas painting of Joachim Murat by François Gérard, now in Room 54 of the National Museum of Capodimonte.[1] It shows its subject in the pose of Michelangelo's David and was commissioned by him after his accession to the throne of the Two Sicilies for the Palace of Portici. It is a replica of a painting commissioned for the Diana Gallery at the Tuileries Palace, later moved to the Palace of Versailles.[2][3]

Le Portrait de Joachim Murat est une peinture à l'huile sur toile de Joachim Murat réalisée par François Gérard en 1808 et aujourd'hui conservée dans la salle 54 du Musée national de Capodimonte[1]. Elle montre son sujet dans la pose du David de Michel-Ange et a été commandée par ce dernier après son accession au trône des Deux-Siciles pour le palais de Portici. Il s'agit d'une réplique d'un tableau commandé pour la galerie Diane du château des Tuileries, qui a ensuite été déplacé au château de Versailles[1],[2].
