Le Portrait de Ferdinand Ier est une peinture à l'huile sur toile de l'artiste allemand néoclassique Anton Raphaël Mengs, œuvre aujourd'hui conservée au musée national de Capodimonte à Naples. Il montre le roi Ferdinand Ier et a été commandé par sa mère Marie-Amélie de Saxe pour célébrer l'accession de Ferdinand au trône des Deux-Siciles à l'âge de huit ans seulement, après que son père Charles de Bourbon eut abdiqué ce trône pour devenir roi d'Espagne. Cela en fait la première peinture officielle du nouveau roi, produite par l'artiste en en environ un mois, bien qu'elle ait été critiquée par les autres artistes de la cour Luigi Vanvitelli, Giuseppe Bonito et Francesco Liani, qui avaient été ignorés pour la commande. Mengs a également produit un deuxième exemplaire de qualité inférieure l'année suivante, qui se trouve maintenant au musée du Prado à Madrid[1].

Portrait of Ferdinand IV[1] is an 1759 painting by Anton Raphael Mengs, now in the National Museum of Capodimonte. It shows Ferdinand IV of the Kingdom of Naples, latter (after 1816) known as Ferdinand I of the Two Sicilies, and was commissioned by his mother Maria Amalia of Saxony to celebrate Ferdinand's accession to the throne of Kingdom of Naples aged eight after his father Charles of Bourbon's abdicated that throne to be king of Spain.[2][3] This makes it the first official painting of the new king, produced by the artist in October 1759 in around a month, though it was critiqued by the other court artists Luigi Vanvitelli, Giuseppe Bonito and Francesco Liani, who had been passed over for the commission. Mengs also produced in 1760 a second copy of the painting, which was sent to Ferdinand's parents in Madrid[1] and which is now in the Prado Museum.[2][3] Visually the main difference between the two paintings is the signature on 1760 copy, located on the square tile in bottom left corner.- [fr] Portrait de Ferdinand Ier
