Biografia


Głowacki studiò pittura presso la Scuola di Belle Arti di Cracovia e successivamente presso le accademie di Praga e Vienna, così come Roma e Monaco. Tornato a Cracovia nel 1828, divenne maestro di pittura e disegno. Dal 1842 fu docente presso la Facoltà di pittura paesaggistica presso la Scuola di Belle Arti. Il suo lavoro si trova presso il Museo Nazionale della Polonia. Alcuni dei suoi lavori sono stati saccheggiati dalla Germania nazista nella seconda guerra mondiale e non sono mai stati recuperati.

Jan Nepomucen Głowacki (1802 – July 28, 1847) was a Polish realist painter of the Romantic era, regarded as the most outstanding landscape painter of the early 19th century in Poland under the foreign partitions.[1][2] Głowacki studied painting at the Kraków School of Fine Arts and later at the academies of Prague and Vienna, as well as Rome and Munich. He returned to Kraków in 1828, and became a teacher of painting and drawing. From 1842 he served as a professor in the Faculty of Landscape Painting at the School of Fine Arts. His work can be found at the National Museum of Poland and its branches.[3] Some of his work was looted by Nazi Germany in World War II and has never been recovered.[4]

Jan Népomucène Głowacki (1802 – 28 juillet 1847) est un peintre réaliste polonais de l'époque romantique, considéré comme le plus remarquable paysagiste du début du XIXe siècle en Pologne à l'époque des partages de la Pologne[1],[2]. Głowacki étudie la peinture à l'École des Beaux-Arts de Cracovie et plus tard aux académies de Prague et de Vienne, ainsi qu'à Rome et à Munich. Il rentre à Cracovie en 1828, et devient professeur de peinture et de dessin. À partir de 1842, il est professeur à la Faculté de Peinture de Paysage de l'École des Beaux-Arts. Son travail peut être vu au Musée National de Pologne[3]. Certains de ses travaux ont été pillés par l'Allemagne nazie pendant la seconde Guerre Mondiale et n'ont jamais été retrouvés[4].
