Molecule Man (German: Molekül Mann) is a series of aluminium sculptures, designed by American artist Jonathan Borofsky, installed at various locations around the world, including Germany[1] and the United States.[2] Borofsky made the first Molecule Man sculptures for locations in Los Angeles in 1977 and 1978.[1] They were installed later in 1981 and 1983 (in Los Angeles and Beverly Hills, respectively).[3][4]

The sculpture model depicts three human form silhouettes with hundreds of holes, leaning toward each other. According to Borofsky, the holes represent "the molecules of all human beings coming together to create our existence."[1]

A related sculpture is Borofsky's Hammering Man.[5]

Der Molecule Man ist ein Berliner Monumentalkunstwerk, das im Mai 1999 von dem amerikanischen Bildhauer Jonathan Borofsky geschaffen wurde. Es handelt sich um eine Drei-Personen-Skulptur, die in der Spree zwischen Elsenbrücke und Oberbaumbrücke nahe dem Schnittpunkt der drei Ortsteile Kreuzberg, Alt-Treptow und Friedrichshain aufgestellt wurde.

Molecule Man (Молекулярный человек) — произведение монументального искусства, возведённое в Берлине в мае 1999 году американским скульптором Джонатаном Борофски в реке Шпрее близ моста Эльзенбрюкке на границе округов Фридрихсхайн-Кройцберг и Трептов-Кёпеник. Скульптура представляет собой композицию из трёх мужских силуэтов из алюминия высотой в 30 метров, расположенных друг против друга и символизирующих собой единение трёх реорганизованных в 2001 году округов Кройцберг, Трептов и Фридрихсхайн[1]. Скульптура весит 45 тонн.
