Август из Прима-Порта — более чем двухметровая статуя Августа, найденная в 1863 году на вилле Ливии, жены императора Августа. Вилла была обнаружена недалеко от Рима на Фламиниевой дороге в районе Прима-Порта. Виллу в античные времена называли Ad Gallinas Albas. Статуя является копией с бронзового оригинала, изготовленного по заказу Римского сената в 20 году до н. э. Полагают, что статуя, в отличие от большинства сохранившихся изображений Августа, имеет портретное сходство. Весьма вероятно, что по античной традиции она была полихромной. В настоящее время изваяние хранится в ватиканском музее Кьярамонти. Октавиан Август изображён в момент произнесения речи перед десятью тысячами своих сторонников на Форуме, призывая их начать войну со своим политическим противником Антонием — нарушителем законов и обидчиком законного наследника Цезаря. Это выступление впоследствии оказалось неудачным, его слушатели отказались воевать с верным цезарианцем Антонием, тем более что на тот момент Октавиан был слишком юным и не имел достаточных полномочий для объявления войны.

Als Augustus von Primaporta bezeichnet man eine 2,04 m hohe Panzerstatue des ersten römischen Kaisers Augustus. Benannt wurde sie nach ihrem Fundort in Prima Porta, einem nördlichen Stadtteil Roms.

Augustus of Prima Porta (Italian: Augusto di Prima Porta) is a full-length portrait statue of Augustus Caesar, the first emperor of the Roman Empire. The marble statue stands 2.08 meters tall and weighs 1,000 kg. The statue was discovered on April 20, 1863, during archaeological excavations directed by Giuseppe Gagliardi at the Villa of Livia owned by Augustus’ third and final wife, Livia Drusilla in Prima Porta. Livia had retired to the villa after Augustus's death in AD 14. The statue was first publicized by the German archeologist G. Henzen and was put into the Bulletino dell'Instituto di Corrispondenza Archaeologica (Rome 1863).[1] Carved by expert Greek sculptors, the statue is assumed to be a copy of a lost bronze original displayed in Rome. The Augustus of Prima Porta is now displayed in the Braccio Nuovo (New Arm) of the Vatican Museums. Since its discovery, it has become the best-known of Augustus' portraits and one of the most famous sculptures of the ancient world.

Alta 2,04 metri, è realizzata in marmo bianco ed è conservata nei Musei Vaticani, nella Città del Vaticano (all'interno del territorio di Roma). Venne ritrovata il 20 aprile 1863 nella villa di Livia, l'abitazione di Livia Drusilla, moglie di Augusto, a Prima Porta.
